Special Agent (SA) Joe Piersante is a member of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Foreign-deployed Advisory Support Team (FAST). DEA FAST has been continuously deployed to Afghanistan since 2005. Teams conduct four-month temporary assignments, usually in the most austere and non-permissive areas of Afghanistan. Hey guys,

As a longtime subscriber (since 1981), I wanted to get your thoughts / recommendations on firearms courses (anywhere in the US) that are father and son (17 yr old) friendly. My son and I would like to attend a course or two that will cover the basics of pistol, rifle and shotgun from a practical perspective. This can be three separate courses
or a single multi-day course – we don’t really care.

Most of you have undoubtedly heard me snivel that it seems the only way I get decent trigger time is when I take a class. Over the years, I’ve been instructed by some of the best, including (not necessarily in order of importance) Tim Lau, Louie Arbuck, Clint Smith, John Farnham,
and Jeff Cooper, as well as Army instructors whose names are long forgotten.
